This game was the worst game I have ever played. I would have had more fun watching PAINT DRY or... GRASS GROW IN WINTER.

lighting is terrible, I quit after 3 tries. cant see much with the colors

I wouldnt purchase this game. Hard to see due to the light coloring of the game, balls and explosions. definitely wasnt impressed with this game

I bought this from the original developer PiEye Games (now called 'clockwork PIXELS' shortly after its release. I was (and still am) really into both breakouts and Shmups. I found most 3D breakouts too easy, but Arklight was one of the more difficult 3D breakouts I'd ever played. It had some original ideas not seen in breakouts previously; that, and the melding of two arcade genres, especially my two favorite ones, made this one of my favorite 3D breakouts. I've played it on and off ever since over the last 13 years. It's not boring, its challenging, and still looks good despite its age. I ended up beta testing for PiEyed Games (System Mania) partly because of Arklight and a couple of the developers other games that I really enjoyed playing (Darkside, a original 3D take on asteroids and Scavenger a excellent Shmup with graphics similar to Arklight). Don't let the other reviews of this game put you off. If you enjoy playing both Breakouts and/or shmups, you'll enjoy playing this game. I'd score it an 8 out of 10 for originality, game play and excellent graphics.
