I SPY games are some of my grandchildren's favorites. I have six of the games in this series so I SPY Mystery will be a good addition and being the Daily Deal just makes it even better. This game does not play in full screen and the resolution is a little scratchy being an older game. There are no choices for game difficulty or sound level. It's either on or off so the volume must be controlled by your computer settings. That said: Otherwise it plays perfectly on my Windows 7 64 bit computer and on my old Windows XP. The gameplay is pretty basic. Find the hidden objects - except they're not too hidden. When a hidden object scene opens, a female narrator reads the list so this game is perfect for even very young children with minimal reading skills. If you move the pointer to the list, each object will be announced again. Each object when found makes a unique sound and motion. I've played these games with a very young grandchild on my lap and me controlling the mouse with great fun for both of us. Just keep your screen cleaner handy for the fingerprints left when they find the object. This is almost as satisfying as reading books with the little one on my lap. As the kids have gotten older, they can play this game pretty independently. Sometimes I had to write a two or whatever on paper so they could find it. But, as we all know, kids are now born with computer skills included in their genes so it doesn't take them long to figure the whole thing out. I would recommend it for ages 3 to 6. This is a sweet, gentle game with the potential to increase hand/eye coordination, reading and listening skills, object recognition and bonding time with Grandma.
It only took me a few minutes to get hooked on this game. The way they hide the HO's is different than most. I love way the HO's interact when you click on them. Some are easy. some are hard to find. You can go from scene to scene without completing them, giving you time to refresh your eyes and then come back and find the HO's you didn't find before. You gotta buy this while it is $2.99!!
IT WAS AMZING,FUN,ALWSOME,EXCELLENT AND I LOVED IT.
I played I SPY: Mystery and loved it so much that I played it from beginning to end in one sitting. Then I came here and bought the rest of the series. This game is a real nice change from the 'dark' HOG games and you can take all of the time you want to find the objects. No annoying timers, which is real nice since there's no hints in the game. If I got stuck finding an object I'd move on to another chapter and come back later with fresh eyes to find what I was looking for. I love the riddles, sounds, graphics and most of all the animation each found object makes when you've clicked on it. So cute. I'm recommending the I SPY series to anyone that likes a refreshing and challenging hidden object game. The I SPY series are now my favorite HOG games.
If you are fond of Mastermind level HOGs this is not the game for you. But if you like playing games that are fun, bright and designed for families to play together, the I Spy series are for you. The game has bright colors, funny animations, and original riddles for a hidden object list. While it's not that hard to find most of the objects, don't let it fool you. Sometimes you really have to look hard and think laterally. The whole series is great if you have a child you want to play a game with while the child also learns. It also works if you don't have any children and don't want to suffer brain strain!
I took advantage of the 2.99 daily deal to get another installment in the I Spy series. My two youngest kids (4&6) absolutely love this series. Great for rainy days :) Thank you BFG for bringing back games for children of gamers.
I like simple, but this was silly for a grown up. I do however think that the under 10 crowd might like the easy puzzles & the little kids voice telling you, so very slowly, every little thing you find. Then again, maybe the 8 & under crowd. I think my 10 yr. old grandson might wanna fwap me if I pushed this one at him. I really don't know how young kids are when they start to play computer games these days, but a 5 year old might find this perfect.
The "I Spy" series are wonderful for children and adults alike. When my own child was young I purchased these and they were enjoyed for many years. Now that we are BOTH older and my child an adult, I am finding the series to be both a cheery and helpful way to regain fast memory perception, hand and eye coordination and just to have a little fun between bigger challenges. It is in a child-like format yet can certainly be appreciated by all ages and is much more challenging than it first appears when you begin to play. The hunting games, for one, utilize unique variation in looking for 'clues' while solving the I SPY mysteries. Would also be fun to play WITH the younger crowd as there are absolutely no questionable or iffy graphics, language, etc. concerns in the game, yet maintains a rather 'spooky' feel in solving the mysteries. Clear graphics, nice sound track.... and very importantly, A REALLY GOOD PRICE for a series that I purchased for way more $ a number of years ago as boxed game; they were ahead, way ahead, of most games in the genre then and.... ....still a timeless and ageless type of game ~ you can't go wrong.
The I SPY series created the HO genre. I used to LOVE these games and my kids enjoy them very much now. Playing I SPY games as a kid is what hooked me on future HOG as they came out. These games are best for 6-12/13 year olds.
The I Spy series is great for kids and adults alike and really great to do together. The colors are bright. The sounds and animations are playful and the games in general are fun. These are great "First H0GS" for anyone especially young children and a nice pickup game if you are a more seasoned player who just wants to relax. This one has more story and puzzles than most of the others in the series making it a little more challenging. Not hard mind you just a little more than it's sister games. This was my kids favorite out of the entire line and I enjoyed it too. My rating relates to it as a younger players game.
