I thought this was a great new game. If you are a fan of the Be a King series, or building TM games in general, then I think you will enjoy this one. The only difference is that it is set in the Old West instead of Medieval England. Each level gives you objectives such as number of people, or types of buildings and a time limit to win the level. I am unsure if there is an untimed option as I always take the timed choice. I thought it was a lot of fun, and had my card out as soon as the trial ended. Hope you enjoy it as well!
I haven't finished the game yet (it seems to be fairly long, which is nice; I like to take my time and see how well I can build up the town before going to the next level), but I am having a great time with it so far. The tutorial seems to always be in place with the characters telling you what you need even when you've gotten well into the higher levels, but it's not really very annoying, so it's not a problem to me. The artwork is very nice; the style matches the "old" west theme perfectly, while still being fairly cartoony. The goals are different in each level and you can get trophies based on how quickly you achieve them, but you don't NEED to get a trophy to advance, which is perfect for someone like me who likes to do as much as she can on a single level before moving on. And last but not least, the sounds aren't annoying in my opinion and the music is nice and relaxing while still fitting to the theme; however there only seems to be the one track that plays the entire time. Overall, this game is one I am glad I bought; it's nice to relax with after work or while I'm tired before bed, but provides enough of a challenge to make me want to go back and play it again when I've beaten it to try and get the trophies I missed the first time.
If I could, I'd give it 4 1/2 stars. It's a great building game, if you like "Build-a-lot" etc, you'll probably like this one too. As "ironic_beauty197" mentioned, the pop-ups are a little annoying, but they don't pause the game or disturb your sight too much, I learned to ignore them and enjoyed the game. But it took me some time to figure out, that you have to stop the bandits by clicking on them, still I finished all of the levels in gold.
I really enjoy this game. In the beginning it is real easy, but it does get harder and makes you think hard before you do anything. You havr to be sure you enough workers money and materials. This is an awsome game.
I had trouble deciding on either 4 or 5 stars, we need to have a 1/2 option! This is yet another addicting TM game with a wild wild west theme, how cool is that. You will select a plot of land to build a house to increase population, a ranch or hunters cabin to increase food, a sheriff building to protect the town or a lumber mill or gold mine etc. to increase resources such as lumber or ore. After constructing the buildings you need to upgrade the buildings in order to meet the goal in the allotted time to earn silver or gold status. You might need to increase population to 45 as well as build deluxe stores or ranches. This game isn't real fast paced and you don't have much collecting to do but you do have to meet the goals within a certain time to receive a silver or gold sheriff's badge. I only wish there were a few things available to manage or collect to make it a bit harder but I still like this game. Enjoy!
Typical TM/Builder Type game with a Wild West Theme Cute and Fun Western saloon typr Music and a cute Storyline I'm not crazy about Timed games, but haven't finished below Bronze badge in Demo, so swill probably use a Credit & pick this one up Five or six Levels into the Demo & still fun & not overly challenged (yet)
This was a very fast-paced and engrossing TM game that could easily become an addiction and make you lose HOURS of time. The tutorials were very thorough and there are helpful townsfolk to give you hints if you get confused. Each location was more challenging than the last and I liked that you could buy needed materials instead of having to rely on production buildings alone. The wild west sound effects were awesome and made the experience complete. Extra optional challenges pop up and there are many achievements to earn. Yeeeeeehaaawww!
for a tm it's not a bad lil game there is one level that is kind of hard to get gold grr... lol i personally liked itw but may wait till it is on sale or i get a free punch :) i do think the levels are a bit uneven not steadily getting harder y'all know what i mean some levels are harder than others but not in a row staggering i played about 30 min of the demo.so for all you tm lovers i think you will like it :) i do prefer ones where u can turn the timer off! (rofl) ^^ Happy Gaming all you fishies out there! ik i put expert down but with most tms which i usually do not play i do find one that grabs me...i am intermediate i am expert in rpgs, adventures and hos :) anywho give this a try it can get addictive!
This game as others have said is similar to the ?build-a-lot? style of game play. Given the theme I was downloading with slight trepidation as whilst I like the genre, I was a bit worried that the music would be too ?stereotypical? of the genre and be very ?o Susannah? ish. I don?t like music from this period as it has always (no rationale behind it) ?creped me out?. I was therefore pleasantly surprised to find whilst there was a ?hint? to the style of music it was modernised so that I could ?cope? with it. I have been known not to purchase games based on the music or not, as whilst I know I can turn the music down to me it forms an integral part of the game-play. The game itself is similar to others of the genre however, as other reviewers have said there is a lot of tutorials and as such this may put people of purchasing as they think that it could be another ?outta of this kingdom? style of game whereby the whole game just seemed to be tutorial after tutorial. Whilst this maybe so to some extent, I felt that as there were different elements to the game-play from others in this genre, that ?most? of the tutorials were I suppose warranted. I know that game developers have to put tutorials in so that ?first-time players are not ?walking in the dark? as it were but, I think it is fair to say that the majority of people will either have a game similar to this or have played a game similar to this to therefore possibly ?bypass? some of the tutorials if needed. I think game producers ought to some-how include that into the start of the game then you are almost tailoring the tutorials to suit your own personal experience of game-play. The graphics and music were strong enough to carry the game through and you really had a sense of ?ye olde wild west?. The levels were good, and even at the beginning there was strategy involved, and you couldn?t just ?blindly? build and hope that you got enough ?rent? to complete the levels, even early on there was more strategy involved. There were also sub-missions
Was getting a little bored or some of the TMs out there, but this one is quite refreshing. It's a typical building the town up but slightly different which is a change. Will be adding it to my games list.
