Big City Adventure was my first hidden object game. I played the New York version first and was hooked. The Big City Adventure: Vancouver game isn't just a quick run through it in 45 minute game, it is a very replayable and has dozens of rounds. I strongly suggest that if you like trivia or to learn interesting facts about different places, read the script while you play, at least the first time. The Mini Games are great as well without getting boring. Once you play one Big City Adventure, you will have to have them all. As far as the collectors version is concerned, I really didn't see the advantage in payying the extra money. I think it got me 5 extra rounds and I really don't care about the wall papers and such....lesson learned.
This was a perfect game for a beginner of the hidden object genre. Some pictures were easy, some were hard. The games and puzzles also had varied difficulties. It kept things interested. This is not a strategy game, just look and find.
I am so addicted to this series of games! Just plain old HOG fun! I am not a beginner, but I can play this over and over! Well worth the money! Relax and play and no stress!
I play this game almost every day, It truly is magnificent! I like every thing about it
Bought this game as a CE and enjoyed. I have several of the other games in this series. Good game for those who just want a basic HO type game. The mini games are always good in this series yet not too difficult. Good information about the city as usual that's educational and interesting. Enjoy!
Yes this Family gets around they been every where this is a good game just like all the other game you on this big board with a start and finish line in between theres hidding thinks to find and facts about CANADA well worth the price try it out.the grathics and sound are fine for this kind of game hope that help you.

They have shaken things up a bit on this Big City Adventure. This is the first Collectors Edition available in this series with such features as a Walkthrough, Wallpapers, Screensavers and a new achievement system for a total of 12 achievements to earn. You still chose a character, mother, father, sister, brother, grandma or grandpa. You will read a postcard that gives you a little bit of information about the location you are heading to and then you search for hidden objects in that area. After each HOS you complete a mini game such as clicking on groups of two or more identical tiles until all wooden background tiles have been busted. Each scene contains hidden coins for extra hints, extra time and extra points, enjoy!
This game gives you a lot of information about the history of the location (Vancouver) and its current attractions. It is a basic HOG with 69 HOS, various locations that are repeated, but with new HO to find. The mini puzzles at the end of each HOS are repetitive also, but got a little harder as I got further into the game. But I did not have to skip any of them. There are 12 achievements that you can win during the game, most of them depending on speed and accuracy. I got 8 of the 12, and of the ones I missed, 3 were based on speed and one on not using any hints in the HOS. I don't have the patience to search very long for an item, so I used the hints several times. I played in the timed mode and almost ran out of time only once. However, just before I ran out of time, a pop-up gave me the option to go to relaxed mode, which I did. Once I solved the puzzle, then I reset the game back into the timed mode. Finding hint buttons in each scene (3 of them) gave you access to additional hints and also increased your score if you didn't use them. Although not that challenging, the variety of the game held my attention and it was fun learning about a place I had visited before, but on business with no time to see the sites. The bonus play at the end was short, and a little different, so that was a plus also. I liked this game and will probably go buy some of the other locations.
If you are new to HO games, then this is a great one to play! I have played many, many HO games, so for me it was fun but way to easy......The mini games are very simple and no great challenge, however they are still fun to play.... The one thing I disliked about this game, is the fact that the hidden objects are way to close to each other, which is one reason it is a easy game to play.....I'm still glad I bought this game and would recommend it for beginners :-)
