I've owned this game since it came out (2008). I've replayed it at least a dozen times since then (maybe more). It's really fun, especially if you remember the 50's, 60's, 70's, etc. All characters are dressed in period clothing. Some of them resemble period celebrities. The music in the background changes with each decade, and the house styles reflect the era, as well. You get a "newspaper" at the beginning of each decade to tell you fun facts (like the price of a car, or major news stories). The more stars you get in a decade, the better the hero's life is. It's kind of fun to play to purposely get fewer stars to see the different stories. Kind of a unique goal for a TM game. Yes, there's a lot of clicking, but it escalates so slowly that you don' t really notice until you're well and truly hooked on the game. I'm not usually a click-fest fan, but this one grabbed hold of me and wouldn't let go.
This is a really fun game and I'm glad I bought it. It's very challenging to try and get all the stars for each level which gives it a good amount of re-playability. If you want to start all over again, you can buy different upgrades which makes the game new again! Two things would have made this a five-star game for me: 1) I would have like some sort of unlimited play level that could be unlocked. 2) The rewards for getting the stars in-game is kind of weak. Maybe instead of the story (which isn't that interesting) you could build your own house? x-number of stars to buy a porch etc.?
I would not recommend paying full price for this game but a TM player should get DD money satisfaction. Not as good as earlier build a lot games.
great game, lots of fun.I think it is a family game that the kids could play along mom and dad
Not to challenging but passes the time and is fun
Great game, lots of levels and would like build in time 2
I have just finished playing this game and it has left me wanting more! It is a great combination of a building game and a time management game. I am hoping for a build in time 2!
I love this game, and keep coming back to play it again and again. Wish they would make a sequel. If you like time management games, get this one!!!
I loved this game! Its not too hard to beat but gives you some hard task to finish along the way. The one thing I did not like about it was that it takes a long time to up grade for faster building crews, mostly its a money issues. I would recommend this game to anyone who likes timed games. Overall I would give this game a 4 out of 5 stars :)
This was a great game, one of my favorites. I keep waiting for Build in Time #2!
