a phenominal FROG

Once again the folks at Blue Tea have produced an outstanding game, one that all HOG lovers will gravitate towards. The graphics are in keeping with other BT games and that is superb. The storyline is compelling and I really like the parables which take the original Red Riding Hood fairytale into another dimension. The FROG objects are not hard to find for the most part and the puzzles I encountered in the demo ( took me 50 minutes to complete ) are fairly easy. I take one minor objection to this game and that is the graphic violence encountered at the start of the game. I have a 6 yr old grandson who has relished all the previous Dark Parable games. I think he can handle this ok but I will need to explain to him that this is only a story and nothing should make him fearful. Other than that RRHS is terrific for children of all ages. For those who have not included the Dark Parable series in their list of games owned, the sale offered by BFG is compelling. This game grades out as an A++. Be you a CE or an SE purchaser, add this gem to your collection.

Absolutely great!

As a lover of the Dark Parables series I immediately got addicted to this game. As usual, this dev produces high quality work that gives real enjoyment to the player. The game widescreens nicely, 3 difficulty modes, superbly sharp and detailed graphics, good voice overs, excellent movie-like intro. Fairy tale story line based on Red Riding Hood, but with a twist. I like having to find the cursed objects, the map and task list are useful. I look forward to discovering the bonus games. It's a definite buy for me.

AWESOME game 5 thumbs up!

Beautiful FROG

As a detective you must go to the Mist Kingdom to save the sisters of the Red Riding Hood Sisterhood from the wolf queen and her ferocious wolves. Warning to those with small children - death scene at the start of game might startle sentive people or small children. Excellent Audio, Artwork and Storyline. FROG (fragmented hidden objects puzzles) Hidden object puzzles include artwork of cute animated forest creatures. Mini game puzzles are fairly simple, but fun. Mini Map is available, but cannot be used to travel in game. Strategy guide not available in demo. On casual, hint meter recharges in 15 seconds. You are given task list of items to accomplish. There are 20 cursed object to find. There are also several parables pieces to find to unlock five parable stories that give you background information on the game. Overall - very well done.

Been Waiting for This One!

Dark Parables: The Red Riding Hood Sisters Collector's Edition is the fourth game in the Dark Parables series. The story places you as the detective whose job it is to help solve the problems in the particular fairy tale world. This time, you are helping the Red Riding Hood Sisters, a company of orphaned women who protect their land from the Mist Wolves and the evil Wolf Queen. The game, like the others in the series, is a fragmented object adventure game. There are three difficulty settings - casual, normal, and hard. There are cursed morphing objects to find throughout the game, which speed up the hint button's recharging as you find more of them. There is a map that tells you where you need to complete a task. The puzzles are interesting, but not particularly difficult. The voice acting, art, and music are all done well. The game is quite beautiful. There are pieces of the parables that you find along the way, which will fill in the back story of the various plot elements. The bonus content includes the bonus game "The Boy Who Cried Wolf," as well as puzzles, music, wallpaper, concept art, and the strategy guide. I am a huge fan of this series, and am very excited to be able to buy this today. I just finished the demo, and plan to purchase the game later today. It looks to be just as good as the previous games.

Expect a breathtaking adventure and a beautiful game!

As a great fan of the dark parables series, I downloaded this one without playing the demo and didn't regret.... Graphics are just so outstanding and beautiful! Story is so interesting an magical, you can't stop playing... Although you have to be a fan of fairytale or fantasy games! Lots of Minigames and HOS: Minigames are also well made, some new and often challenging. The HOS: Yes, I love those blue tea game HOS! You don't look for certain objects, - you are looking for fragments of an object, which - when set together - you need for the process of the game. This is soo beautifully made, you just can't get enough!!! Again you can collect achievments and morphing objects, as I think is a must in CEs. A map shows areas of interest. And there are 3 levels of difficultiy. I played the 2nd and it took me, incl. the bonus chapter about 5 hrs. Thumbs up and yes, yes, yes, I do recommend this game!!

Gorgeous Adventure with Fragmented Hidden Object Scenes

This is a very lovely game that is sure to get hundreds of reviews extolling its high production values, engaging story and fun puzzles, so I'll keep this one short. Key Features: *Hidden Object Scenes - fragmented objects are scattered into neat, well-composed scenes. You need to find pieces of three different items which then combine to give you a useful object. Scenes do repeat *Engaging Storyline - as with other Dark Parables, you are a detective. Here you investigate a town and its surrounding woods that are plagued by wolf attacks. It's rather violent really but keeps with the fantasy/fairytale theme. The Red Riding Hood Sisters are a group who are dedicated to protecting the woods but they've been kidnapped and you must help rescue them. *Amazing graphics - For me, this is reason enough to play this game. Every page is filled with rich settings that are fun to explore. *Fun Puzzles - the puzzles are not overly complex or frustratingly difficult. There is just the right amount of challenge to be fun without becoming too annoying to try to complete. They fit well with the story and include things such as a shadow puppet show, switching tiles, etc. *Emphasis on Adventuring - The main gameplay is in the exploration of different areas, solving puzzles to open the next chapter and then exploring those areas for clues and items. *High Quality Production - nothing second rate here. A lot of attention to detail. Voice acting is talented. There are several cut scenes/movies to keep the storyline moving along and they're entertaining, not something you'd want to skip. *User Options - There's three difficulty modes, from lots of help and sparkles, to no help and no sparkles, plus something in between. It is a true wide screen. You can adjust sound, music and voices. Bonus content is unlocked after completing main game.

They have done it again!

A truly fantastic game and another great installment in the 'Dark Parables' saga. The basic storyline (no spoilers I promise) is that you are the detective sent to investigate 'Mist Wolves' that have infested the woods. You will be assisted by the Red Riding Hood Sisters. However, the sisters have been kidnapped by the Wolf Queen (the big bad for this game) and you have to save them. Yes, it is the rescue storyline of most of these games but honestly it doesn't feel rehashed and dull. As the game opens you are treated to another wonderfully animated movie setting the premise for the game. The voice acting is brilliant and this continues into the game itself through conversations with characters which are ALL voice acted. You will not be disappointed with the quality of the in game animation either. The scenes are very detailed and I haven't suffered any problem with finding the fragmented object parts. YES that's right. They have bought back the fragmented object scenes that they lost in the Pied Piper game. This is a refreshing change from the (almost saturated) medium of HO games. The puzzles in the game are not too challenging once you work out what you are actually supposed to do. There is a simple explanation at the base of the screen. For example 'Move the wolves so the Red Riding Hood Sisters can shoot them'. Another thing I have noticed is that the music in the background is so subtle I have just had to check that it was actually in the game! A lot of my complaints about a game usually include the whiny music but no such problem here. Another nice point is that the games interlink again. For those of you who have played the 'Dark Parables' games will know that the Frog Princes carriage was found frozen in the Snow Queen game. In this game a statue of the Snow Queen's son is found (but I won't spoil the reason for him being there). The only complaint I have is that there is no journal or notebook. However, they have bought the unlockable parables back so tha

What A Beautiful Game From Blue Tea Games!

Just played the demo and I have to say that lately games are getting better and better. In this one the storyline, graphics, voice overs, music and game play are superb in every way! I also love the bonus game (which I can't wait to play) a classic Russian tale! Way to go Blue Tea Games Studio!!

WINNER WINNER WINNER!

If you?ve played any Dark Parables games, you won?t be disappointed in this one. It is as fantastic as the others. But it should come with a warning that it contains violence and is not intended for children. A few;people will find some of the scenes disturbing as the scenes are quite detailed rather than just giving an impression of what action is taking place. Others will not want to play at night when home alone, especially in a storm. Otherwise, production values are terrific, with superior graphics and animation. Story is as original as Snow Queen and Briar Rose. This is a very well developed game with a lot of attention given to the details. HOS are nicely sized and well-defined. Intriguing puzzles (there?s always a twist), Music is relaxing, but contrary to the subject matter. Map helps you keep your running shoes from wearing out needlessly. With the bundle sale going on, I would also highly recommend adding at least one of the other Dark Parables games to your collection.
