This was the first series of HOPA games that I ever played way back in the day, so I may be partial but I love the ongoing sagas that Anna faces. With an evil twin sister and Jacob the mentor who is possibly corrupt and the beautiful animals that help Anna with her quests what's not to like? I don't want to be a plot spoiler so please take my word on this one and start at the beginning with Empress of the Deep (but not a necessity to play this game) I believe that you will enjoy the storyline. The graphics are well done but keep in mind that it is a fantasy based theme. The only complaint I have is the HOS items are a little on the small side, but there is a cool feature of the game and that is unlocking the zen feature which is a match 3 game with a little bit of spunk, enjoy!
Great Graphics, Cinematic Quality Feel To The Sound And Great Continuation Of A Story ... And So Much Attention To Detail ... I liked the first 2 Empress games (both with good length) and this one is more interesting. Just as they were, this is an adventure game with a few well-detailed HOS thrown in. Beautiful graphics; good storyline involving the Empress and her evil twin. Next goals are known but you have to figure out how to attack them, which can be quite challenging in itself. Rapid Transit is good, since the map only shows locations already discovered and doesn't directly transport you there. Empress has a pleasant voice. The other characters seem to be the same voice disguised slightly. Sort of sad at the beginning when the phoenix is to die.
I just finished the game... I agree with another person on here.. The game reminds me of the Myst games. Which, is the first adventure game I have ever played. So, I loved the look of the world and the areas. PROS Very long game Beautiful Graphics - Wonderful world - draws you in. Cut-scenes keep the story-line going. keeps you interested. Morphing object scenes. (instead of standard HO) find the circled images in a scene. (instead of standard HO) No repeated HO's scenes, as far as i remembered. Transport machines. To transport you to another area CONS A little to much dialog - but not extreme. Cut-scenes are choppy.. - But, I can live with that. MAP - but cannot be used for transportation. Have to use the transport stations throughout the game but you are limited to transporting to other stations. cannot just go anywhere. Try it:) If you wanted something different.. or you liked the Myst series. I am more than satisfied with my experience.
where I thought I might give it a miss, I have found this to be a very beautiful game. The scenes are all fanciful of course, but clear, colourful and really lovely. The story line is good. No evil beings other than a sister I haven't met yet. There is, eventually a map when the game gets really underway. The diary is useful and the hints fill quickly in casual mode. There are three modes to choose from if you want to be really challenged. Lots of magic and a Key Master who leads you along the way. If you love fanciful and charming, then this is for you.
I thought it was interesting! I read other reviews on it that said it was boring and not enough of a challenge. Sorry, but I don't agree. There are some areas that are a challenge, but mostly it's just a really fun story. If you have worked through all of the previous Empress games, you understand why you walk all over the place to get through the game. It all ties in together. I enjoyed it!
Reading other reviews here made me hesitate in trying this game, but after a short play on the demo I bought it. To say it blows away other HO games would be an understatement. The graphics, atmosphere, VO and spell binding scenes are amazing. I found some HO scenes challenging, but overall Silverback should be congratulated on a spectacular game, worthy of whatever rewards are given to developers.
I have all three games so NO1 Fan What brilliant genius thougt this game through The graphics very good I played this game way into the night had to take breaks as there was so much to think about and do in all a brilliant game Wow
absolutely lovely game, i'm always bowled over by the beautiful graphics. the voices were ideal, got lost a bit till i found the transporter again ha ha. wont explain the game it would spoil it, but the sentiments at the end is very touching. great game
I just love playing these games. They need more match three and card and board games.
