Another Sable Maze Winner - Review Of Completed Game

This is the second game in this series. The first being Sable Maze: Sullivan River. If you haven't played this one while this is a really great game in my opinion however not necessary. This game stands alone . STORY: The year is 1965 and the place is Norwich University. You take on the role of Professor Edwards and have just begun at this university. The former Professor Buildson and four of your students went on an expedition and several days later they discovered a labyrinth and then went missing so you've been called upon to find them. 8 CHAPTERS WIDESCREEN: YES VOICE OVERS: YES JOURNAL: NO however there is what looks like to me anyway a little TV and you click on that and you can replay some of the cut scenes. This also shows your trophies and collections. OBJECTIVES: The ! and you click on that. They also pop up on the screen and tell you once completed. MAP: This comes shortly into the game and is transporter. Shows where you are but doesn't show if there is anything to do or not. Actually it says either blocked or not available. The ones that say blocked you can go to. 3 PLAY MODES: You can change at any time during the game. Since I played Advance I didn't come across any sparkles however some black bar tips. Hint is directional outside of HOS. HOS: Found by word list and when you find one you have to use it in the scene and that will get you to the next one. Very interactive here. Some of these I found a little challenging however I didn't use the hint at all for the HOS. I really enjoyed this part of the game. PUZZLES: These varied in difficulty for me. Most I found easy. Some a little challenging and a couple the instructions much to be desired,. I skipped those couple. ENDING: This came to a satisfactory conclusion for me. I didn't think the bonus chapter was necessary to get the "rest of the story." BONUS CHAPTER: New story. This starts where the main game left off as far as location .Just a couple of locations from m

Don't be fooled by certain reviewers!

When looking at this game, make sure you filter out those who do not prefer this type of game. I found it thoroughly refreshing and entertaining. The graphics were crisp, the puzzles fun and not too difficult and the music enjoyable. I really enjoyed the new hidden object puzzle set where you had to find something and use it in order to find the next object. I can say that I enjoyed my demo time - give it a try and see what you think.

Excellent Game!

This is a decidedly unique game, incorporating fun mini-games within the HOS themselves. I thoroughly enjoyed this game from beginning to end.

Great Game!

What can I say, I had a fun time playing this game. Everything, the graphics the voice overs, the interactive HOS's, and the mini games were all impressive and fun. There were no glitches, the colors were sharp and clear, I have to say it's one of the best games I have played in a while and I give it a thumbs up on everything!

Love the HO scenes

What a fun game! I particularly love the HO scenes which are different to say the least then most HO scenes. Choice of difficulty levels is nice and this one has Achievements as well.

Sable Maze is Amazing!

This is a very well done game! I like the theme and it just draws you into the whole story. Not every game can do this. The graphics were great and sound effects are done well. It's challenging enough to keep you thinking with what to do next and even the HO's are not the typical ones because with these, everything you pick up has to be utilized instead of just using a few items. They were a little tough at times to figure out. I always enjoy collecting items along the way and you get to collect students' things for their collages. You earn achievements as well and I think this is the first time I've every noticed getting an achievement for completing a mini puzzle before your skip button recharges, so that was new and fun. This will be a definite purchase for me!

THE SCIENCE PROFESSOR HAS GONE MAD!

I was a big fan of the first edition of Sable Maze and I am equally a fan of Norwich Caves! The Professor has uncovered the secret passageway into the caves with the help of a handful of top students, but, the Professor has a more sinister plan in store for these unfortunate few. This game has crisp graphics, good voice overs, quality video cut scenes and of course a really good story. The HOS are progressive finds where you use one item such as a key to unlock a cabinet which reveals the next item. There are also lot's of items to interact with in each scene so do some exploring. There are achievements to earn such as no mistakes or finishing a mini game quickly. You will also come across collectable items from each student so keep on your toes for that as well. There is so much to do in every scene that boredom will never cross your mind, enjoy!

The Water is Rising

This game was so much fun! The story starts with four missing college students and a professor who seems to have gone to the dark side. You play as another professor who is enlisted to locate the students. The graphics are excellent, the voice overs and cut scenes are well done, the music is acceptable. The iHOS are a real change from the "find item on list" in that you have to pick an object, have it interact with another object to get a third object and so on. I really enjoyed the iHOS. The mini games were fun and challenging enough to keep you interested. There is an interactive map which shows where "to do" items are located. There are collectibles that relate to various students. They are kept in your journal and once you obtain three for a student, it unlocks some interesting info about that person. There are also trophies to collect, which is always fun. The built in SG is always available if you get stuck at a location. The main game was fun and had a satisfying ending. The bonus chapter was really good and added to the story. It included some new locations and had a satisfying ending. I highly recommend this game!

The Water is Rising!

I did not play the first Sable Maze story but it doesn't seem to matter. You are Prof Edwards, who is enlisted by Diane, the daughter of Prof Buildson to find her father and four students who are in the labyrinth under Norwich College. It seems the college was founded by professors of English, Math, Biology and Medicine, and that happens to be the majors of the four missing students! The founders sealed the Water Master in the maze because he could control water and make it flood. Of course it is now raining and the students in the maze are going to drown if you don't get them out. It seems Prof Buildson has other ideas however -- using them to perhaps awaken the Water Master by activating the four wells in the maze. Kind of complicated! The HOS are interactive, and hard. You use an item on the list to get the next item. I had to use the hint button a few times during the HOS. The map is interactive, and shows you where you can perform a task. The modes are casual, advanced and hard. The hint button refills quickly. I did not need the Strategy Guide, although I confess I did skip a puzzle or two because they are also a bit hard! You have 22 trophies to achieve, plus a collection of photographs to fill an album -- each photo requires you to find 3 objects about the person in the photo. Of course there is a bonus game. I can't tell yet if Prof Buildson is a bad guy or not, but I certainly plan to purchase this to find out. The demo hour passed very quickly and I have just barely cracked the surface of this game.

Very Good Game

I beta tested this game and enjoyed it. It has all the stuff I love, great story, collectibles, IHOS, great graphics, all combined with adventure game overtones. I decided to try this game again after reading ALL of the reviews. Sometimes I rely on the number of stars a game gets, and had forgotten my beta test. Thankfully I took the time to read several reviews and NOT rely on the star system. Give this game a try! I recommend it.
