20 minutes of my life I can never get back

I thought this was going to be an actual fighting game, its not and in the words of Simon Cowell....That was absolutely dreadful! Omg, I felt like I was thrust back into the early 90's, just horrible. The music was okay (end scene music actually sounds like the music from the original Sonic the Hedgehog game), storyline was okay, but this is not only a sleeper, its also a confusing sleeper. There are no clear instructions other than how to use the controls in the beginning. Not even arrows telling you which walkways to go down, so you can easily end up walking in circles. There are 3 or 4 different fighting styles/defend styles to choose from. None of the fighting commands are explained & no matter which one you choose they all seem to do the same thing anyway. The graphics are a step up from the days of Atari or Colecovision. The whole thing was just awful. I dont usually like games with a lot of talking between the characters but in the case of this game the dialogue was the best part, and thats not saying much.

A Difficult Game

The game is very confusing to me. I've been playing it for a while, and am not sure what exactly I'm supposed to be doing. Other than doing a lot of fighting and talking, there don't seem to be any quests. And the most difficult thing for me is there is no journal to remind you of the things you ARE asked to do. Also, whenever I go to a town and enter the shops, I can't buy anything! This is so different than the RPG games I usually play. I like the story line, but I wish there were more instructions and explanations. Instead, I am confused. Too bad. I love RPG games. But I don't recommend this one.

crapiest RPG around

this is horrible first its just exactly like the first chapter.... u have to do all the same things fix the house again recruit the same people to help ... i had to double check i was playing chapter 2 then there is no way of knowing where u r to go next there is no goal list or any side quest u walk around this vast drawn land for nothing...there is hardly any fights it is so horrible writing this does not even help me feel better... big lame rpg and yeah sooooo boring too play the first or anyyyy other rpg and skip this.

I really enjoyed it!

Maybe not quite as good as the first one--a lot of monsters over and over, and I never did figure out what to do with the mansion, but I finished the game and it was fun. It was long, sometimes a bit frustrating but no insolvable puzzles/ I hate it when games like this have puzzles you have to be fast and dextrous in, cause then I can rarely finish. I had a lot of fun with this one and thought it was a good sequel. If you liked the first one, you will like this one, albeit not as much.

Not as good as the first

The graphics were far better than the first but i would say that was the only thing better. The story line and humor continue from the first shining plume. There were feature in the first I liked such as being able to see the opponents life points that was gotten rid of. Also they made all the status effects in Japaneses characters (and i don't know about you but i can't read Japanese). Also there are two parts where there are "puzzles" that thank goodness for google otherwise there would be no solving them.

Pretty Good Little 2D Adventure

Bit slow slogging thru the Storyline set-up part, but once you actually Start the Adventure part, it goes pretty fast & Fun. PG-13 language/Taunts Bought it before Demo was over . Easy to learn movement/interactions (Mouse OR Keyboard 2D cartoony, so graphics .. meh... 1st thing I did after sign-jn was mute the music. Not a whole lot different from other 2D Adventures, but I liked the .Japanese Storyline & Combat styles.

Solid 4 Star sequel

This review is based on the full version of the game. This is your standard RPG based on the RPG gamemakers that some of us (myself included) are so fond of. What makes them good is a great story line and lots of secrets to hunt for. The mouse works, the keyboard works, and you can turn off the music which is a HUGE deal for me; I hate background music. There is some potty mouth talking here and there (using stars and other symbols), and some mistakes in the spelling, but it isn't too bad. I am not clinging to my seat to play this like I was the first one, but still I do look forward to my game playing time. :-) This is the second part, BTW, and I highly recommend getting the first part so you can get the full story.
