OMG! this game is terrible! hidden object after hidden object scenes with no relief in sight save for some easy puzzles any 5th grader could solve. The HOs were so small and so hard to find, I had to resort to using a magnifying glass LOL! I forced myself to play the game in one sitting so that I could delete this game from my PC and my memory!
I would never have bought this game if I had realized it was the type that has a limited number of hints and you have to replenish the hints by finding "gems". The hidden objects are hard to see and the game seems to be the same thing over and over.
First, it will only play in a window on my monitor. That makes the really bad graphics even worse. I deleted after about 5 minutes. The game is impossible to play and probably is not much better if you could get it to play full screen.
I'm not worried about story lines. If you want that, not your game. The HOS do make you search a bit, but not to the point of making you give up. And getting more hints involves more hidden objects, so that is what the game is anyway. I like the music and the "sound effects" don't bother me. It's a pleasant game.
Dreadful game. Got it half price for buying another game. The graphics are lousy and so hard on the eyes. The sound effects sound like someone recorded random things off the tv then put it on a loop to run throughout the game. Boooooooring storyline.
the tones and shadows are dark and deep making it difficult and at times impossible to find items. some are mostly obscured as well. With limited hints and the above limits I found it very frustrating. I love hidden objects, but this one gave me eye strain and quite a headache. I have not finished it. Nor have I progressed without much difficulty and aspirin.
Many of the items are too small to see. Some don't even look like the object you're trying to find. The names of some objects are British & I had to use hints to find them. Objects are dark and hidden in dark places & can't even be seen with the monitor brightness & contrast turned all the way up. There is no story line. You can skip the puzzles but it costs you 10 minutes & all of your hints. The puzzles & hidden objects have no purpose. I wish I would have tried this game before buying it.
very slow and short play, and did not take me long to finish
One of the differences for this HOG compared to others is you can go to an island to find 10 gems to replenish your hints. Yes it can be annoying but at the same time it allowed you to replenish hints if you use them too quickly before the end of investigating a character. Artwork is good, mini games a bit of a challenge. While not the best HO game, but as an introduction to a classic novel, it's playable. I'm in 2 minds about recommending this game. Make up your own mind.
If you want to have a legitimate reason to call in sick to work, play this game. It will give you a migraine in under 20 minutes. I could only take 19 mins of the demo...Holy TINY/BLENDED HOs! Talk about straining your eyes...the graphics are horrible, and make the HOs that much more difficult to find. The beginning is like reading a book, and you better be a fast reader too! Game play is HOS after HOS, with very little story....kinda boring and repetitive. You do not have unlimited hints either. Not worth even the DD price, unless you like to torture yourself, and give yourself a headache.
