When I saw the presentation with the pictures of three "Find The Differences" scenes, I though "uh oh... that's going to be boring". Well, not at all. This game is good fun. I didn't see any of these FTDs during the whole demo, actually, which I played entirely up to the start of Chapter 3. They probably come later. The storyline is well written, solid, and interesting enough to make you want to know what happens next and how it'll all end. The well-made intro movie sets the pace, as it were, with a bit of action. And indeed, although the game is not a game of action such as a FPS, there is plenty to do. Cutscenes however are less successful, being more static, with a couple of bizarre animations. HO Scenes come in every now and then leaving plenty of room for the rest. At times you have to find a list of objects which are not related to the story, like pumpkin seeds or a snail, but none are anachronic [a plus], or fragmented pieces of various garments and costumes which Constance, as the Queen's special agent, needs as a disguise in order to complete her mission [like in Mata Hari]. That, too, is good fun . In others, which act as minigames, the surrounding objects move as you hover your cursor; these scenes are rather overcrowded but they can be skipped like all the other minigames. There is plenty of puzzles, of all sorts, not difficult, traditional, easy yet good fun. The hunt for useful objects and their use present no true difficulty; the tasks are clearly stated and several of them are quite inventive such as what you need to do in the Cardinal's bedroom. Hints help you find the hidden objects but their guidance as to what to do next is often vague. All the scenes have great visuals, bright, sharp and detailed. You explore only a minimum of locales in each chapter, which means maximum linearity and very little traveling back and forth. The soundtrack seems to have only two themes; a nice piece of classical style music which co
the sound is ok the visual is ok the story line is nice altho some of the things u need to do make no sense to me at all but at least so far all is within the time theme :) i like the dress up part i do agree this would be wonderful for a younger audience i think anyone who likes hog's should at least play the demo also i like the brightness of the rooms and hog scenes very refreshing and not the sos same old stuff (hehe thought i was going to say something else didn't u ^^ get ur mind out of the gutter lol :D i will probably get it on sale tho or for free game. i hardly ever pay full price cause i am on a tight budget! i hope this helps and have a wonderful day :) Happy Gaming everyone!
I have played enough of the Demo to know I want to buy this game. It has all the characteristics of a point and click adventure game with the addition of H0G scenes and as well as other unique hunt and find visuals. There is a slight learning curve, ie. reading the directions and reading dialogue between the characters along the way, so if that is ok bye you, you will definitely like this game. I think it's charming so far and want to continue to find out what is next, so the plot does pull you in. This will be a great game for casual relaxation and pleasant enjoyment... nice to find a good game at a SE price.
The game was easy to follow. The graphics and colors were beautiful. You were able to see the hidden objects.
I found the game very easy it is for the young. Graphics were dark at times and to light in other areas. If you are among the senior Big Fish age group please try the trial version because we know eye site is not all that good (lol). I did like the dress up part. but the tutorial was not good. I would say over all it was fun but the game is more for the young at heart not your every day HOG. This game is excellent for a rainy day. This game is what I call a 50/50 either you like or your don't it is different. Have a great day swiming in the pond.
love this game, its cute and yes its easy in some places, but some times we just need this sort of game, i usually do the hard core HOG games, but how many times do we complain over the usual things in them, i don't have the music on as i play my own music during games, but i am going to buy this game, just for the differences in it, i like to move the things around with the mouse, great game will worth the buy, cheryl
I like it! So good story line. I will buy it, because I like book and movie, and now wanna play the game in full version
Would have given the game 5 Stars, but there weren't any voices. I thoroughly enjoyed the game. It was a nice mix of adventure and HOG. I really liked the way the Hidden Object scenes were done. There were 2 STD scenes and 2 Replace Item scenes. I liked the way the game was broken into segments, you didn't have to run your tail off with multiple long back-and-forth scenes. Looking forward to more games like this.
Not a big challenge, most puzzles very easy - though the needed objects can be very hard to see due to the unspectacular graphics. The storyline is entertaining, if utterly ludicrous at times. I enjoy the historical/literary games (even though wildly inaccurate) and a plus is the lack of supernatural/paranormal overtones which I'm soooo sick of. All in all, just an easy quick game that I found enjoyable.
