This is one of the best game I've played. Not too easy, not too difficult. Usually I don't share my opinion but for this one, I had to. I really enjoyed all the parts of the game. I wish you will enjoy it as much as me.
The graphics are great with fine details to even the smallest of objects. Interaction with objects within hidden object games makes these scenes more enjoyable. Unexpected events triggered by player actions gives an exciting twist to the game play. The option to play mini games during hidden object scenes is yet another twist as well as a greater challenge. Time Mysteries - The Ancient Spectres Collectors Edition quickly became one of my favorite hidden objects games.
The CE is worth the price just for one of the HOS in the additional play--everything moves-really cool! Graphics in the rest of the game are very good. Some of the HOS are interactive. If you pick up an interactive item and can't find out how to use it, a right-click releases the object. Some objects are easy to find, others are more subtle. Story line is a bit fuzzy imo, but then time travel is pretty fuzzy, isn't it? The time machine can tell you where to go next if you get stuck, hints are helpful, but not too much so, although hints are vague for some of the mini-games. Strategy guide isn't needed often, but does help for the mini-games with vague help hints. Music was OK for me, although it got awfully boring while working on the harder mini-games. Overall, this is a GREAT GAME!!
I just finished this game and enjoyed it thouroughly. Full compliments of adjustments in options for those that find that importnt. I thought this was a game that could have been ordinary, but was done in a very clever way. Some new things to experience and think about, but not to difficult. The mechanics of the game were a bit different from the usual fare, but in a good way. Great graphics. It played very well on my 17 inch laptop and had no problems finding objects and completing tasks. A very good Iinteractive hidden object adventure game and I highly recommend you spend your hard earned money on this.
I thoroughly enjoyed this game. It's not your run-of-the-mill hidden object/adventure/puzzle game. It's unusual in that you time travel, and have an option to play a match 3-type game in lieu of finding well-hidden objects in the HO scenes. There is a time machine in which you can jump to the scenes where you need to find objects rather than running all over the place trying to find them. It's a long game and well worth the price of the CE. I can't wait to play this one again and I usually don't do this right away. My only complaint is that in the Mac version, I was able to play the optional match-3 game twice without the game quitting. (It kept quitting on the match-3, so I just stopped playing it.) This is highly unusual for BFG Mac games; in fact, it's the only one I've had this problem with. But this is an issue for BFG tech support. It did NOT detract from the game at all.
An interesting game which is of good length! It has an interesting story line which ends abruptly in the main game. The bonus game rounds out the story of the game's heroine. The game has excellent graphics & interactive hidden object scenes; nearly all the items change so there is good replay value. If you don't want to play H0S, you're given the option of playing a mini game instead. The voice-overs are adequate but it would have been nice if the heroine showed some emotion! The mini-games are interesting & varied with some puzzles having random solutions. The extras include the (obligatory) wallpapers, some of the mini-games plus a short bio of the characters, locations & magic used in this game. I don't buy many collector's editions but this one is worth the extra money IMO.
I fall in love with this game, it worths CE for me completely. I played on Expert mode (no sparkles,much-click penalty, long hit recharge), used hint few times only (and you can't get much from hint on expert - if there are nothing to do on current and adjacent scenes, hint shows on time device only and you have no real clue were to go), never used skip button. At first I was sure it's other dark mystic terrifying game I'll delete after 5 try minutes as many other, but I gave it a chance - and game took me completely instead! - I'm ready to give 6 stars for fun - The story is amazing for me, bonus chapter unexpected and cool. - I like that idea with time device - saves from long travelling, and add some fun game moments like doing some at past changing current time etc. - art level is nice for me, but some scenes were too dark and hard to play in broad daylight - music suits the game completely, I like it - 1st such game when I liked HO scenes really (they annoy me mostly during adventure, I prefer pure HO games). Some HO scenes used twice - I like this. Interactive objects at HO scenes ware really fun sometimes. Player can play mini game like match 3 instead of HO scene, every win reveal 1 HO object - puzzles and mini-games were OK - only 1 thing was annoying - sometimes the only thing player can do is new HO place, appeared after solving some problem, and there are no clue were it is, we can only walk throw places and times looking for it; - this game isn't for family playing, the story line and some scenes is a bit fearful for small kids (nothing really terrible or unsuitable, but this isn't game for play with my 5 year son on my knees) - I give 4 to level of challenge because I'd prefer it would be a bit harder - long enough and I want continuation!
Tons of hidden object scenes, so that automatically makes it great in my book. I can't evaluate the sound, as I didn't have my speakers on, but the graphics are excellent. And, as I said, the HO scenes are perfect. I like the Time Element....it made it easier for me when I was stuck. I could usually click on it and choose another scene that needed to be completed. Overall, a fantastic game!
SUMMARY: Game time was between 4 ? to 5 hours. Heavy on challenging HOS due to the color palettes used. You?ll need the map to travel between time periods and I suggest you use it to travel to different locations within the same year (there are 5 years). A fun, engrossing game, with nice graphics. However, the graphics did seem to be somewhat hazy toward the end ? don?t know if they really were or if my eyes were just tired. As a descendant of Merlin and Viviana (our villainess), you were raised in an orphanage and try to learn more about your lost family tree. Interesting that Viviana hates everyone in your family. To note: ? Time travel to 5 different years to piece together your family history, each year with a limited number of locations. ? Get a time travel machine and map, which will extremely helpful as you travel back and forth, frequently for only one or two errands. You can also use it to travel within the mansion in the same year to save time. Since locations where tasks await are marked, I found it helpful even when staying in the same time period. ? HOS are very crowded and, since they are generally of complementary hues (ex: greens, golds, beiges), it can be difficult finding what you are seeking. Although objects are not small, I used the hint toward the end of the HOS for the last one or two items just to move on. It seemed that there were HOS every 5 minutes, so I was getting a little tired of them. But some will just love all the HOS. You will revisit HOS two or three and even four times, but most of the time, some objects that you previously found are not contained in them. And the hint recharges fairly fast. ? You can opt for a Match 3 game instead of the HOS. ? Sometimes, you will have to make the last piece of an inventory item (ex: if you need 4 screws, you find 2 laying around or in the HOS, have to clean a rusty one to get the 3rd screw and have to actually make the 4th one). ? Puzzles are few and far between. Instructions are patchy, but y
Normally I don't like to write review but i think here i need to do this work because this game really amazed me. i thought it just sample type hidden object game but while playing i invent this is not only funny also challenging. the game?s major setting is in the 1800?s, you?re first introduced to a dilapidated, abandoned mansion, a ghostly spirit is haunting your travels and the game is quite moody overall You will get high quality graphics and sound quality in this game. The storyline also very hard, you need to provide full attention during play this game for successful mission. One think, this game conclusion is not expected, it can be better.
