Bare Bones Old School RPG

This is a very bare bones RPG, left click to move, right click to get to most menus, turn based combat system. A lot of details are missing -- there's no map function, you just automatically level up with no notification, and there's no indication how difficult enemies are, so you are clueless in each battle if you will win or be slaughtered. It appears to be built on the same game engine that the Aveyond series uses, but this lacks the depth and details that series has. Recommended only for those familiar with this type of game who are really bored.

Continuation of Vagrant Hearts

I recommend this basic, but decently designed RPG to players who enjoyed the first VH. Nothing terribly exciting happens, but I liked the art style, the crest system, the just-right-sized dungeons, and the variety of characters. The final boss took me a few tries.

Engaging Story

I'm a huge fan of old-school rpgs and have played a lot of them. Warfare Studios does an amazing job creating stories and worlds for their rpgs, and Vagrant Hearts 2 is another great example. The Pros for this game were: 1) excellent story, continuing where the first game left off and leaving a great set up for the next in the series. 2) Very well-developed characters 3) I love the crest system--rather than simply gaining more and more powers, you gain crests, and have to carefully think about which characters (who may or may not be a part of the next section of the story) to equip the crest and their powers on. 4) Battles can be extremely simple or difficult depending on party/crests Some of the cons were: 1) While much better edited than other games, the second half of the game lapses, and there are numerous grammatical/mechanical errors 2) No quest journal. This isn't a biggy since there aren't any sidequests in this game, but jot down the name of the place and the direction you need to go on a pad of paper, otherwise you are roaming a fair bit. 3) This second game, while still very engaging, was quite a bit shorter with fewer places to explore than it's predecessor.

Fantasy Adventure game

It begins with a beautiful picture of a knight, then goes to bright and vibrant graphics that emulate a child's fantasy game. The soundtrack is great, something from the days of Lancelot and King Arthur. There are no voiceovers. There is not much direction but once you learn how to attack and kill (on your own) it can be very interesting. It is not my style of game. I won't be purchasing it but it should be demoed. It can be a lot of fun.

Fight but for what ?

Never knew what I was supposed to be doing. No tutorial at all.

Fun Stratgy Game

recomend the game for one and all.

If you liked VH1, you'll like VH2 as well

I enjoyed VH1 very much, so no wonder that I played VH2 till the end. The game seemed easier and shorted than previous one, but maybe the reason is that now I grabbed fully the playing mechanism. Anyway, it still lasted for good 8 hours of fun :-) Although I didn't liked this game as the first in the series, still there are some good elements worth of note. For example, the storyline is interesting and contains several unanswered questions, which pave the way for a VH3. Also, like in the first chapter, some characters are outlined with surprising depth. Graphics is poor, but this is not a minus because this stimulates you to use fantasy and imagination. Overall, I recommend the game and hope to see the third chapter soon.

More of a RPG

I played Vagrant Hearts 1, so I knew this was a RPG game. I enjoyed the first game and I like the fact that you receive crests and can give the characters the skills you want them to have. The enemies are also visible, so you can avoid them if you want. I didn't get far in the hour, but it appears to be more linear than most RPGs. If you didn't play the first, I can see where you would be confused with the story, but most RPG players will know how to equip, etc. It is too bad there isn't a tutorial for others who are not used to this type of game play. Also, as a fan of RPG, this is dated, but for the price I will purchase it!

not as good as the first

This RPG game is basically battles strung together by some conversation. No side quests, very few "treasures" to find. The characters' stories don't get much more developed than in the first. You have a little more choice of party, but that's about the only improvement. There still is no Quest log. There still is no map, you have to guess where to go most of the time. If you buy it, wait for a sale.

Vagrant hearts 2

I enjoyed this game very much, it had a lot of little glitches in the desert and in the great plains area, but it done well once you get out of the rough area. I am looking forward to a 3rd one just to find out what happens to Scarllet... I do think if the creator does turn her into something evil that I would not buy it but at the same time I would like to know what really is inside of her
